A beautiful French antique tablecloth and napkin set decorated in damask scenes of "la chasse" or 'the hunt' on its border. These scenes include hunters on horseback, onlookers sitting for picnics, and hounds chasing deer through the forest. The border fades out into long chintz-like branches with birds scattered throughout. The central motif bears the initials E.L. in a floral hand embroidery with damask flowers and trophies surrounding it. The tablecloth comes with twelve matching napkins in the same embroidered initials and damask design. Rectangular tablecloth size 3.1m x 2m. Natural wear due to age.
