Description

A fine example of late 18th to early 19th-century English craftsmanship, this Leeds Creamware Sauceboat is elegantly modelled in the form of a scallop shell, reflecting the refined neoclassical aesthetic of the period. The piece features delicately feathered rims and an entwined strap handle adorned with floral terminals, a testament to the meticulous artistry of Leeds Pottery.

Its light, ivory-toned glaze enhances the crisp detailing, while the silver-shaped form lends it an air of timeless sophistication. An identical piece was previously sold at Christie's, underscoring its desirability among collectors.

In very good condition, this rare sauceboat is a distinguished addition to any collection of early English ceramics.
